2012 Blazer Mat Club Wrestling Scholarship Award
The Blazer Mat Club wrestling program is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior wrestler who meets the following criteria:
- Applicant must have wrestled on the Daniel Boone high school wrestling team for a minimum of two years including their senior yearblank
- Applicant must attain at a minimum a ' B ' Grade Point Average
- Applicant must be continuing their education through college or trade school
- Applicant must have performed at least twenty-hours of community service to the Blazer Mat Club throughout their high school career
The purpose of this scholarship is to reward a graduating senior wrestler who has exhibited a positive attitude toward their school, their community and their classmates while remaining focused on their studies and committed to their responsibilities as a member of the Blazer wrestling program.
Please complete and submit the attached application to the guidance department by the senior award deadline.
The Blazer Mat Club Board will review the applications for selection. The High School Principal Mr. William McIlmoyle will be informed of their selections. Scholarships will be awarded at the annual awards commencement ceremony.

2010 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Congratulations to the 2010 Blazer Mat Club Wrestling Scholarship Recipient:
..........EDWARD LOCKOWITZ (Penn State University)
Eddie was an active member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club, Key Club, Student Government, and Spanish Club. He received honors or distinguished honors in each report period throughout his high school career.
As a four year starter on the wrestling team, Eddie became only the second wrestler in school history to surpass the 100 win mark with a final record of 103 - 51. He was a 4x District 3 Section 4 AAA place winner, 4x Governor Mifflin Tournament place winner, as well as a 3x BCIAA tournament place winner.
In the fall Eddie will attend Pennsylvania State University where he will major in chemical engineering. After college he hopes to attend medical school with an aspiration of becoming either an Endodontist or plastic surgeon.
