Wilton Running Club - Membership Information
 

The Wilton Running Club (WRC) is a competitive USATF membership club.

The WRC competes in the Western Connecticut Conference in Track and Field and Cross Country as well as the USATF Junior Olympics Series at the end of each season.

Cross Country season runs from late August into the first week or two of December.

Spring Track season begins in mid-March and can go as long as the end of July depending on how many athletes qualify for the USATF National Junior Olympics championship.

Age Requirement: To join the club an athlete must reach the age of 10 prior to 12/31 in the year in which they wish to register.

Practice Information: The club meets on two weekday evenings and on Saturday mornings. Practices tend to start between 4:00 and 5:00 PM on weekdays and at 9:00 on Saturday mornings. Week days can vary during the early part of each season as we must be flexible to accommodate the high school sports schedules.

Meets: Most meets take place on a weekday and late in the afternoon or early evening. The USATF series is always on the weekend.

Schedules: Practice and meet schedules are posted at least, two weeks in advance and most times a month in advance.

Practice and Meet Requirements: We have no minimum requirements as our philosophy is and has always been, 'the more you come the better you get.' So it is up to each athlete to decide how often they attend our sessions. No one is excluded from any opportunity due to attendance, etc.

Training Safety: Our coaches are highly quailified and as such use the best and safest training methods to bring out the potential in each athlete. We do not compromise when it comes to safety and training properly. Consequently, all guidelines and instructions given to athletes must be followed by the athlete during each session. Any violation of the safety and training measures we use can lead to suspension of priviledges or dismissal from the club.
