What is the Lansdale Swim and Dive Team?
The Lansdale Swim and Dive Team is sponsored by the Lansdale Parks and Recreation Department and supported by Lansdale Swim and Dive Team Parents Association.
What league does the team compete in?
We compete in the Bux-Mont Swim League (Bux Mont Swim League) which is comprised of 8 teams in our area. There are 7 meets during the season and 5 championships to finish the season.
Must my child belong to the Lansdale Community pools?
Yes. Your child must belong to the municipal pool in order to join the Lansdale Swim and Dive Team.
Can my child be on both the swim and dive team?
Your child may participate in swimming and diving on the team. Practice is seperate for each. At a meet each child may only participate in a total of 4 events between swimming and diving.
Am I required to purchase a team suit?
No. Nobody is required to purchase a team suit; however, it is encouraged to promote team unity. A date for suit try-ons will be announced each season.
What is the vounteer fee?
The volunteer fee is collected from each family at the beginning of each season. This is to ensure that each family meets their volunteer obligations of 5 meets per season AND any invitationals your child is swimming in AND C champs. It is impossible to run a successful meet without a large group of volunteers. Your check will be returned to you at the end of season party if you have met your volunteer obligations.
When the weather is bad, how will I know if a meet or practice has been cancelled?
Meets and practice are held rain or shine. If there is a need to cancel a meet or practice, the coaches will send out an update on the TeamReach App. Please be sure to download it. If there is time an email will be sent as well. If you do not hear anything from the coaches, then assume practice or the meet is still on.
What do coaches expect of the children during practice?
Children are expected to be on deck and ready to go at the start of practice. Coaches expect the children to be respectful of everyone and ready to give their all at each practice.
What do the coaches expect of the parents during practice?
Parents are expected to have the children at practice on time. They are not permitted on the pool deck during practice.
Are children expected to attend every practice?
Children are expected to attend every practice everyday.
What do I need to send with my child to a meet?
Your child should have at least 2 towels, goggles, cap (if needed), bottle of water, some healthy snacks, a sweatshirt and sweatpants if they should become chilled, and something to keep them occupied during their down times (ie: cards, a small game, etc).
What should I do if my child needs to miss a meet?
If your child needs to miss a meet please fill out a missing a meet form (also found in the filebox at the front desk). Put that form in head coach Jeff Faikish's file by 11am on the meet day. It takes the coaches hours to make up a meet line-up so please be respectful and let us know about missing a meet as soon as possible.
